ALTER STATES music is a multi-faceted organisation.

Ian Flavill's prime focus has been to establish a small network of venues, initially in Essex, that will host Live music across genre's with the emphasis being on new and original material.

Key Genre's are Americana, Alt-Country, Country, Folk, Blues, World Music &  Bluegrass. We have also hosted some excellent Indie bands and Rock bands where the music will work in a small intimate space.

In 2008 we concentrated on The Bassment Club in Chelmsford and did the odd gig at The High-Barn in Great Bardfield. In the past we have used the Seaxe Bar at The Essex Arms in Brentwood and have organised teh Romford Liberty Music Festival alongside Saatchi & Saatchi plus MusicTEK.

Latest news July 2009   Due to other commitments outside the world of music Alter States have scaled back promotions. Next gig will be Oct 20th 2010 GRINGO STAR in Chelmsford venue tbc.

Alter States has managed/represented a number of UK and International acts in the past but at present we are ONLY focusing on assisting GRINGO STAR from Atlanta Georgia in their quest to crack the UK & Europe. Now that the Band have full Agency support through THE AGENCY GROUP significant progress is being made.

ALTER STATES prides itself in giving support slots to quality Unsigned Bands from Essex and Beyond. Occassionally Alter States have staged many  Showcases for new talent.

Local bands including Closure, Stealing Signs, Mantango,  The White Gospel, Coping With Crisis & Bloom have all been supported at The Bassment. Many bands from further afield like Lone-Pine and Society have been given support as have numerous singer-songwriters.
