ALTER STATES music is a multi-faceted organisation.

Prime focus has been to establish a small network of venues, initially in Essex, that will host Live music across genre's with the emphasis being on new and original material.

Key Genre's are Americana, Alt-Country, Country, Folk, NU-Folk, Blues,  Bluegrass. We have also hosted some excellent Indie bands and Rock bands where the music will work in a small intimate space.

In 2008 we will concentrate on The Bassment Club in Chelmsford and we will do the odd gig at The High-Barn in Great Bardfield. In the past we have used the Seaxe Bar at The Essex Arms in Brentwood.

Latest news Feb 2008 -  Due to other commitments outside the world of music Alter States will take a break from Promotion at The Bassment after the Wed 23rd April gig. Hopefully this will only e a temporary break. 

Alter States has managed/represented a number of UK and International acts in the past but at present we are ONLY focusing on promotion.

ALTER STATES prides itself in giving support slots to quality Unsigned Bands from Essex and Beyond. Occassionally Alter States will stage Showcases for new talent.

Local bands including Closure, The White Gospel, Coping With Crisis, Bloom, Legion 7 and The Thymes have all been supported at The Bassment. Many bands from further afield like Lone-Pine and Society have been given support as have numerous singer-songwriters.

News as at Feb 2008 - We have now handed over our 1st Wednesday of the month slot at The Bassment to A.T. Music Group. They will fly the flag for the Unsigned bands.

This venture has yet to be fully established but the principle is to place top quality solo artists and duo sing-songwriters that can play unplugged in people homes.

In essense 'take the gig to the audience'.

We have a large available roster of artists prepared to play small intimate events. The key is to find the homes prepared to accomodate the artists and ensure fair remmuneration for the entertainment.
